SafeCare, designed for families with a history of child maltreatment or families at risk for child maltreatment, typically provides training to parents with children from birth to age 5 for 18 to 20 weeks. SafeCare was developed to offer key components of its precursor, Project 12-Ways, in a more streamlined way by providing parent training in three focused areas, delivering the intervention in fewer sessions, and using less specialized staff to provide the services.
