This manuscript describes two studies: a randomized controlled trial (RCT) and a non-experimental design (NED). This review addresses the findings of the RCT. The review of the NED is addressed under Cicchetti et al. (2006; Study 2).
This manuscript received a rating of indeterminate because HomVEE was unable to determine whether the intervention and comparison groups in the analyzed samples were equivalent at baseline on race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and pre-intervention measures of the outcome. Manuscripts receive a rating of indeterminate whenever HomVEE reviewers lack sufficient information on one or more features of the study design that are required for the study to receive a rating of moderate or high. A rating of indeterminate is not a statement about the quality of the research or the research design.
