The baseline equivalence and attrition information above applies to the randomized controlled trial portion of the study. A confound in the study design for the quasi-experimental portion of the study resulted in an automatic low rating for that portion. Specifically, authors compared children with a foster care history who were randomly assigned to receive ABC to children with no foster care history who were selected as a comparison group. This creates a difference between the treatment and comparison groups, foster care status, that is present in addition to exposure to ABC. It is therefore impossible to isolate the impact of ABC from foster care status in the quasi-experimental portion of the study.
